YouthCare
35th Annual Luncheon - Virtual
CONTEXT
YouthCare is a remarkable organization that has been doing life-changing work in the Seattle-King County area for over 40 years. In October 2020, they hosted their annual fundraising luncheon in a digital space for the first time ever, due to the coronavirus. To continue supporting and sustaining youth in our community, YouthCare needs to create and develop long-lasting relationships with donors. The pandemic brought new challenges for YouthCare, and engaging community support to continue this critical work was more important this year than ever. Touch was brought in as a thought partner to provide event strategy, creative and production, as well as video production services.
OUR APPROACH
To build on the collective impact of 34 years of beloved in-person luncheon events, we knew we needed to connect the powerful stories of young people and YouthCare staff to our virtual audience. We began with a series of strategic workshops to dive deep into the challenges and opportunities of the event, and to align on priorities for the luncheon program. Based on our learnings we were able to make strategic recommendations for program content, design, production planning, and hosting platforms. We harnessed the power of video to spotlight individual stories of courage and resilience, and leveraged the collaborative spirit of the YouthCare team to create video assets that not only served the needs of the luncheon but are in use beyond the event as well. We crafted a visual look and feel for the luncheon that was based on the strong YouthCare brand, expressing it with a motion-graphics package that provided dynamic visual interest across the program. YouthCare’s 35th Annual Luncheon was a collaborative success, not just meeting but exceeding fundraising goals. The event remains available on demand and can be viewed here.
